The tape said wait; the Chiefs did not. Darius Robinson went at the 95th overall pick, a good 26 picks before the board was ready.
Simpson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Troy Franklin went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kiran Amegadjie in the 64th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They talked themselves into Darius Robinson at the 95th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
