The Dwight McGlothern pick is the one that will follow the Chiefs into the fall. They took him 30 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
They did well to land Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 64, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Darius Robinson at slot 95 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reach for Ben Sinnott in No. 133; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jaylin Simpson in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They paid sticker price for Roger Rosengarten in pick 172, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Christian Jones in the 210th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A wild overpay on Dwight McGlothern in pick 250, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
