The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Marcellas Dial, the No. 194 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 31 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Hicks pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, quarterback and other spots. The Baker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
