The Packers torched the value chart for Khristian Boyd, taking him 23 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Landing Robinson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Morgan in pick No. 41. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Darius Robinson at the Round 2 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Caelen Carson in pick 91, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nice patience on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, who had no business lasting to slot 99. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Mason McCormick at the 126th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Jalyx Hunt in the 154th pick, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They reached into another round for Khristian Boyd, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They read the board right and Sione Vaki was the payoff at the Round 5 slot. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
No drama and no debate, Myles Harden went about where he belonged in No. 202. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Magee at the 219th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
They liked Rasheen Ali enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 7, Pick 25. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 255 with a little surplus value in LaDarius Henderson. It fills a real need, too.
