You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bills took Thaddeus Dixon at the 91st pick, roughly 123 spots before his name belonged.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Clark. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get an enforcer at safety, though they paid up to get him.
A real head-scratcher, Thaddeus Dixon in pick 91 is miles ahead of his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
By-the-book stuff, Jude Bowry at the 126th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Circle this one: Bud Clark at pick No. 165 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kaleb Proctor at Round 5, Pick 28 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Value said wait; Andre Fuller in No. 182 says they were not listening. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Cole Payton in the 220th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
