The rest of the league will want that one back. Kevin Coleman Jr. tumbling to the Buccaneers in the Round 6 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Reaching for Allen left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.15 · Pick 15 · Keldric Faulk · DE-EDGE · rank 13
In slot 15 they get a double-digit-sack hope. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.14 · Pick 46 · Caleb Banks · DL · rank 41
A tidy little value on Caleb Banks in pick 46, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Dontay Corleone · DT · rank 67
They read the board right and Dontay Corleone was the payoff at No. 77. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Kaytron Allen · RB · rank 146
Kaytron Allen in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.15 · Pick 155 · Dae'Quan Wright · TE · rank 179
A big swing on Dae'Quan Wright at the 155th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.14 · Pick 195 · Kevin Coleman Jr. · WR · rank 162
Circle this one: Kevin Coleman Jr. at Round 6, Pick 14 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.13 · Pick 229 · Jeremiah Wright · OG · rank 212
Jeremiah Wright is a better player than the 229th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
