Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Domani Jackson at Round 3, Pick 1 is 109 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Golday. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd pick they get a premier pass rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Chris Bell in pick 34 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value said wait; Domani Jackson in No. 65 says they were not listening. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Jake Golday at the 104th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Hezekiah Masses at pick No. 143 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Malik Benson at slot 183 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A linebacker of that caliber at the 217th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
