You build a draft on nights like this. Tim Keenan III had no business being available in the 187th overall pick, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Ioane pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Josiah Trotter slid further than he should have, and the 71st overall pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Will Lee III at slot 147 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tim Keenan III at the 187th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Matt Gulbin in pick No. 209 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They will replay Justin Jefferson at pick 223 for years; that is how good the value is. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
