You build a draft on nights like this. Keagen Trost had no business being available in the 211th overall pick, and the Ravens did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Every board in the league had Jackson Jr. lower, and that gap is the story. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 14 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Emmanuel Pregnon in the 45th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Darrell Jackson Jr. this early at pick No. 80. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They did well to land Nicholas Singleton in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Keagen Trost in slot 211 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jaydn Ott in No. 250 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen Huskey at Round 7, Pick 37 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
