It is the swing that defines the weekend: Daevin Hobbs in Round 3, Pick 21, a good 180 spots before the room expected him.
Taylor falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. With safety and cornerback unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In slot 21 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A tidy little value on Gennings Dunker in pick 53, a step better than break-even. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Romello Height at No. 76. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Daevin Hobbs at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Deion Burks slipping to the 99th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 121st pick on Billy Schrauth with safety and cornerback unsolved.
A wild overpay on Lake McRee in pick No. 161, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Taking J'Mari Taylor in the 216th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Aaron Graves at Round 7, Pick 8 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Sawyer Robertson at slot 230 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jimmy Rolder in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
