The war room fell hard for Nadame Tucker, and it showed at No. 98: 76 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 23 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end. A real need, handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in pick 54. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Elijah Sarratt at pick No. 68 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They talked themselves into Nadame Tucker at the Round 3 slot, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Isaiah World at the 114th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The roster fit checks out.
A clean, defensible pick in the 137th overall pick with a little surplus value in Parker Brailsford. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
