Some picks age like wine; Frank Crum at Round 6, Pick 44 will need to, sitting 35 spots clear of his grade.
With quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get an island corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Junior Colson in Round 2, Pick 9 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They jumped the gun on Kingsley Suamataia, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
Calen Bullock at the 88th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Cole Bishop adds a safety and leaves quarterback, wide receiver and other spots untouched.
By-the-book stuff, Brennan Jackson at No. 126 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jordan Magee in the Round 5 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
A conviction pick on Kimani Vidal at No. 202 that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Frank Crum at pick 219 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They went early on Nick Samac in the 245th pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Keaton Bills at pick No. 255 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
