The Chiefs torched the value chart for Walter Rouse, taking him 71 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Beebe. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They jumped the gun on Johnny Wilson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cooper Beebe in Round 3, Pick 32 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jarrian Jones at pick 133 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaylen Wright. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Brennan Jackson in the Round 5 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They talked themselves into Walter Rouse at pick 210, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on Matthew Jones in the Round 7 slot, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
