The rest of the league will want that one back. Jabbar Muhammad tumbling to the Chiefs in pick No. 160 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
They will replay Travis Hunter at the Round 1 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Ajani Cornelius in Round 2, Pick 32 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Oscar Delp in the 69th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Walter Nolen was still sitting there in pick No. 96, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Dani Dennis-Sutton in slot 128, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Taking Jabbar Muhammad in the 160th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Xavier Restrepo in pick 193 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They robbed the room for Wyatt Milum here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
