They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Jalen Sundell, 32 picks early at Round 7, Pick 34.
They banked enough surplus on Knox to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Kiran Amegadjie in slot 64, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Marshawn Kneeland slid further than he should have, and pick No. 95 is lovely value for the edge rusher. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Ben Sinnott in the 133rd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A conviction pick on Walter Rouse at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Trey Knox in Round 7, Pick 33 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jalen Sundell at pick No. 254 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
