The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Roman Wilson slide 25 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

In slot 6 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Guyton in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Ja'Tavion Sanders at par in pick No. 47, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Blake Corum at pick 68 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
You do not let a wide receiver like Roman Wilson reach No. 104 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kris Abrams-Draine at the 136th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson slipping to Round 6, Pick 7 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Omar Speights at the 229th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
