The Connor Tollison pick is the one that will follow the Bears into the fall. They took him 29 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
That Price pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a disruptor off the edge, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Caleb Banks in slot 57 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on Josiah Trotter in Round 2, Pick 28, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jadarian Price at the 89th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Trey Zuhn III went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They talked themselves into Connor Tollison at No. 239, and the board did not agree. It fills a real need, too.
Xavier Nwankpa at the Round 7 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
