They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Holker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Hadden at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 3 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Devontez Walker at the 68th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Matt Goncalves enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 104. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Dallin Holker at the 136th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Kamal Hadden slid further than he should have, and pick 182 is lovely value for the cornerback. A minor need, but a need all the same.
