Call it larceny. Emery Jones Jr. sat on the board until Round 5, Pick 28, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The Booker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him.
No drama and no debate, Alfred Collins went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Tez Johnson at slot 89, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Billy Bowman Jr. at pick No. 127 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Emery Jones Jr. at the 167th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jamon Dumas-Johnson in Round 7, Pick 25, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
