There is conviction, and then there is this. The Giants took Troy Fautanu a full 48 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 37
In pick No. 12 they get a matchup problem out wide, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 83
A wild overpay on Amarius Mims in the 37th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 58
Trey Benson in slot 54 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 117
They left a pile of value on the table to take Troy Fautanu this early at the Round 3 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 109
A straight-up fair deal on Tyleik Williams at the 105th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
