The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cowboys shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
Drake Maye gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Landing Berger that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Drake Maye. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
In pick No. 24 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the 56th overall pick, where Tyler Guyton graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Cooper Beebe come to them and pounced at the 87th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
McKinnley Jackson in No. 91 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A slide stopped in slot 124, with Tyrice Knight worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No drama and no debate, Justin Eboigbe went about where he belonged in pick 125. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.

Circle this one: Kitan Oladapo at pick 188 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Jared Wiley at the 212th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taking Jalen Berger in the Round 7 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
