The rest of the league will want that one back. Jake Majors tumbling to the Vikings in Round 5, Pick 25 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They are betting Dellinger proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 28 they get a run-stuffing presence up front. A real need, handled.
By-the-book stuff, Maxwell Hairston at the 97th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A running back of that caliber at the 140th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
They will replay Jake Majors at pick No. 163 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Garrett Dellinger in Round 7, Pick 28, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
