Nobody else had Addison West anywhere near pick No. 89. The Texans did, by 106 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Etienne value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a load in the middle at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They went early on Quinshon Judkins in pick 58, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Addison West at pick No. 89 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nazir Stackhouse in slot 127 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Logan Brown at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They barely believed it either: Trevor Etienne still on the board at the 243rd overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
