Green Bay Packers

The Packers won the night they stopped McGlothern from sliding. Grade: B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Dwight McGlothern, the No. 174 name on the board, stolen at Round 6, Pick 29.

Every board in the league had Braswell lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 42
In No. 25 they get juice off the edge, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kamari Lassiter · CB · rank 41
Kamari Lassiter in pick No. 41 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 59
No drama and no debate, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. went about where he belonged in the 58th pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Calen Bullock · S · rank 74
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Calen Bullock at the Round 3 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 78
The board had Jaylen Wright higher than the 91st overall pick, and the running back fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 125
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Isaiah Adams. It fills a real need, too.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Javion Cohen · OG · rank 167
Javion Cohen at pick 168 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 174
The board fumbled Dwight McGlothern all the way to Round 6, Pick 29, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 197
They barely believed it either: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint still on the board at the Round 6 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Tanner McLachlan · TE · rank 221
Taking Tanner McLachlan in pick No. 243 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Kenny Logan Jr. · S · rank 249
By-the-book stuff, Kenny Logan Jr. at the 251st overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
