The war room fell hard for Aaron Frost, and it showed at pick No. 242: 31 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Christian Haynes at the Round 2 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Sedrick Van Pran at No. 87, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Javon Foster went about where he belonged in pick No. 125. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Layden Robinson in the 173rd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kingsley Eguakun at the 213th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Aaron Frost at pick 242 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
