Predicting the Top Rookies of the NFL 2024 Season
The NFL 2023 season was a big one for rookies, with Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud topping the list of new entries. The former Buckeye immediately looked at home in his debut season and firmly shut the door on any pre-season doubts.
There’s something special about seeing a young player burst onto the professional scene. Across the pond for this year’s European Championship betting odds, young soccer sensations like Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala and Goncalo Ramos could play starring roles for their nations at the international tournament.
Back in the NFL, franchises will be desperately hoping that their research into metrics to try and find another C.J. Stroud or Puka Nacua, leads them to success this season in what they pull from late April’s 2024 NFL draft.
Early Picks QB Heavy
There will naturally be a big focus on the available quarterbacks at the 2024 NFL Draft, which was loaded with top QB quality. Is the next superstar in among all those players like Drake Maye, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels?
Sometimes it is not quite just all about the star power of a young player alone that will propel them to Rookie of the Year award. It’s that player fitting into the right system that makes them shine.
Caleb Williams
It would be a huge ask if quarterback Caleb Williams doesn’t go on to tear up the NFL. Having cut his teeth with Oklahoma and USC, he is set to storm the big time. With the early pickers like the Chicago Bears clamouring after a star QB, if Williams is paired up next season with a promising young receiver that he can build a blossoming relationship with, expect big, big things.
Jayden Daniels
Despite having a rather flat pro day when he did not look as explosive and sharp as some of his fellow quarterbacks, Daniels is still one of the top prospects around from the 2024 NFL Draft.
He, too, will make a big name for himself in the NFL next season. Daniels’ skills are much better than what he showed, and his form with LSU proved that he is an absolute beast for accuracy and controlling games.
Drake Maye
Maye is a future star quarterback of the NFL. But a lot of the focus on him ahead of the 2024 NFL draft was him finding himself in the right set-up. If he is positioned correctly in the right set-up, with big tackles and willing wide receivers, many analysts predict that he could actually be the star of this big quarterback pool in the forthcoming season.
Marvin Harrison Junior
Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr was pegged as the leading wide receiver in this year’s NFL Draft. He would add some prolific pace and running ability to any roster and is arguably, for many, the top prospect in the draft.
He was outstanding in College Football with Ohio State and has the height and stature to make it big. If he hits the ground running, then there’s every chance he could wrap up that Rookie of the Year award.
Malik Nabers
The best wide receiver in the NFL Draft not named Marvin Harrison Jr., Nabers is another exciting offensive prospect. The LSU star has pace on par with Harrison Jr, but is lighter and shorter.
Nabers put all that impressive speedwork to good use on pro day, really standing out with his explosive pace off the mark. He is a top receiver and has the potential to pull out from Harrison Jr’s shadow.
Next Rookie of the Year Prediction - Joe Alt
Joe Alt was one of the top offensive tackle picks from this year’s NFL Draft. He will add a touch of young elite status to a roster, as he manages to look like a player to whom football comes second nature.
There’s a mature, cool head on his young shoulders which should propel him far. Alt’s impressive build at 6-foot-9, coupled with enormous athleticism, puts him in with a Rookie of the Year shout as his ceiling is so high. The Notre Dame junior had the presence of a number one pick in the Draft and could be the next NFL breakout star.
