You could see the war room lean forward. Xavier Restrepo at the 212th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

Whatever Quinn Ewers becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Quinn Ewers · QB · rank 9
In No. 22 they get the arm they will build around at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · Colston Loveland · TE · rank 17
Colston Loveland at pick No. 54 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.22 · Pick 118 · Ajani Cornelius · OT · rank 63
Ajani Cornelius at slot 118 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.16 · Pick 144 · Jabbar Muhammad · CB · rank 27
They barely believed it either: Jabbar Muhammad still on the board at pick No. 144. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.22 · Pick 150 · Ashton Gillotte · DE-EDGE · rank 35
Circle this one: Ashton Gillotte at Round 5, Pick 22 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.16 · Pick 176 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 132
Somehow Dylan Fairchild was still sitting there in the 176th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.20 · Pick 212 · Xavier Restrepo · WR · rank 72
Xavier Restrepo in pick 212 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.22 · Pick 214 · T.J. Sanders · DT · rank 86
The board fumbled T.J. Sanders all the way to the 214th pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
