FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Ewers in the fold, and a B+ for the Dolphins. You could see the war room lean forward. Xavier Restrepo at the 212th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
Whatever Quinn Ewers becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Quinn Ewers
In No. 22 they get the arm they will build around at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland at pick No. 54 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118
Rnd4
Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at slot 118 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jabbar Muhammad
They barely believed it either: Jabbar Muhammad still on the board at pick No. 144. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick150
Rnd5
Ashton Gillotte
Circle this one: Ashton Gillotte at Round 5, Pick 22 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick176
Rnd6
Dylan Fairchild
Somehow Dylan Fairchild was still sitting there in the 176th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick212
Rnd7
Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo in pick 212 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick214
Rnd7
T.J. Sanders
The board fumbled T.J. Sanders all the way to the 214th pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
