The Dolphins did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Troy Fautanu fell into pick 55.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The cost of the Nugent reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st pick they get a bendy edge with upside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 55 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They liked Layden Robinson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 158th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They talked themselves into Drake Nugent at Round 6, Pick 9, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

LaDarius Henderson in pick 241 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
