After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. No fireworks, but a solid B.
McCoy at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th pick they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Taliese Fuaga at the 36th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cooper DeJean. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Sedrick Van Pran in Round 3, Pick 7 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They read the board right and Jaylin Simpson was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No drama and no debate, Graham Barton went about where he belonged in No. 100. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

They robbed the room for Bru McCoy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
