When a board-topper like Cody Schrader slides to the 212th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Cowboys did not.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Circle this one: Amarius Mims at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They barely believed it either: Jonah Elliss still on the board at Round 3, Pick 24. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board fumbled Spencer Rattler all the way to the 124th overall pick, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Malik Washington in the 133rd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
