The tape said wait; the Chiefs did not. Jordan Whittington went at slot 188, a good 60 picks before the board was ready.
With quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The McCaffrey steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
