The Sam Hartman pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 28 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Fiske. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
