Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

The Sam Hartman pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 28 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Fiske. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In the 11th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
They paid sticker price for Keon Coleman in slot 39, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick43 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A straight-up fair deal on Chris Braswell at pick 43, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick75 Rnd3 Blake Corum
Blake Corum in the Round 3 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick82 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Sedrick Van Pran at Round 3, Pick 18. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick111 Rnd4 Audric Estime
Audric Estime at the 111th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick135 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Khyree Jackson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick189 Rnd6 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in the 189th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick217 Rnd6 Reuben Fatheree II
They paid up for Reuben Fatheree II at No. 217 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219 Rnd6 Delmar Glaze
They reached a country mile for Delmar Glaze at pick 219, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick232 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
They talked themselves into Sam Hartman at Round 7, Pick 12, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
