The board owed the Chargers one, and it paid up: Cornelius Johnson, the No. 186 name on the board, sitting there at pick 225 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Eboigbe left real value on the table behind him.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The Michael Carter deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
