You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cowboys did exactly that with Mason Fairchild in pick No. 245. The math is unkind, and the D follows.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Landing James that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
