The Vikings did not so much draft Eric Gentry as overpay for him, 21 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Franklin.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
