Scouting Report: Strengths
  • His vision is outstanding, and Edwards has an innate understanding of when to go and when to sit back and wait for blocks to develop. Edwards thrives as a one-cut back
  • A compact runner, he has a rare blend of balance, agility and instincts.
  • His passing game skills are strong. He’s a natural hands catcher who turns upfield quickly in the screen game, and he shows a great feel for setting up wheel routes.
  • He flips upfield naturally in the screen game. He could probably get by as a slot receiver.
  • He shows suddenness off the line of scrimmage and accelerates quickly, and his top-end speed is among the best in this draft.
  • His initial burst is excellent, and he’s capable of running out of a traditional setup or taking the ball lined up next to a quarterback in shotgun.
  • Edwards aggressively finishes runs and consistently falls forward in a crowd. His low pad level and a bit of wiggle keep him from absorbing big hits.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • As a runner, Edwards too often looks to bounce outside and make the big play, rather than pick his way through traffic.
  • Offers little in pass protection and poor technique cut blocking, fails to do more than slow down blitzers by laying down in front of them.
  • Edwards can sometimes be impatient, not allowing his blocks to set up, a nuance required for backs to last a decade-plus.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
