Draft Profile: Bio
Ben Christman from Revere High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Christman opted to join Ohio State. In 2022 as a freshman Christman saw action in just one game and played a total of 9 snaps for the Buckeyes. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Anchors against larger defenders in the middle; resets hands to maintain distance. Athletic enough to help on nose tackle then pick up twist or late blitzer. Mirrors quick interior rushers. Looks to help the center when uncovered.
- Christman plays with good leverage despite his taller frame, and he’s a surprisingly good mover for his size, showing fluidity and flexibility when blocking on the second level.
- He does a nice job working with teammates to build the pocket, anchoring against bull rushers and displaying good awareness against stunts and twists.
- Christman is a work in progress with high-end physical traits. He’s extremely light on his feet for a 300-pounder, a natural knee bender who plays with balance and leverage.
- Takes much more pride in the run game, where Christman plays through the whistle with tremendous physicality.
- Consistently lands blocks at the second level, and he finishes strong. As a pass protector, he has violent, heavy hands. Along with a strong initial punch, he has the hand strength to grip and redirect pass rushers.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Tends to slip off blocks when going against bigger linemen, and Christman too often finishes plays on the ground.
- Had issues against quality counter moves, struggling to readjust. That’s something he’ll see frequently against NFL technicians in the pass rush.
- As a pass protector, he gets caught reaching and lunging when matched up against quickness.

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
