Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Consistently keeps his feet sliding while maintaining power when dealing with speed, often sending speed rushers flying past the pocket
  • Simmons has the powerful upper body, strong core and the grip to win at the point of attack. He does a solid job as a hand fighter. He also flashes the agility to get around and land blocks as a puller.
  • Mauler in the run game, playing with a nasty disposition and showing excellent snap and punch quickness.
  • Simmons is a work in progress with high-end physical traits. He’s extremely light on his feet for a 300-pounder, a natural knee bender who plays with balance and leverage.
  • Consistently lands blocks at the second level, and Simmons finishes strong. As a pass protector, he has violent, heavy hands. Along with a strong initial punch, he has the hand strength to grip and redirect pass rushers.
  • Not to be bet against with the skills set to line up at guard or tackle. Could develop into a solid backup and eventual starter in the NFL.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Very raw technique, playing with inconsistent hand placement fails to sustain blocks.
  • Often gets too high in his sets, sacrificing some of his power, and Simmons doesn’t show great coordination between his upper and lower body when sliding back in pass protection.
  • Solid all-around prospect, but he’s not elite in any one area.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
