Scouting Report: Strengths
- Effective out of the slot, showing the instincts and quickness to mirror when the receiver has a two-way go. Johnson has good instincts and awareness when playing off, showing good route recognition and anticipation when breaking on the ball.
- Flashes good ball skills. He has the fluidity and change-of-direction ability to mirror quicker receivers underneath.
- His ball skills are very good. Johnson tracks the ball well downfield and has the hands and coordination to come away with interceptions even when Johnson isn’t targeted often.
- Has quick feet and excellent change-of-direction ability, capable of mirroring quickness underneath.
- He’s a better tackler than his size might suggest.
- Has legitimate NFL-caliber cover skills. Has a quick, low backpedal with a fluid hip turn to cover receivers down the field.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Too often gives too much of a cushion while playing off his man, and it becomes especially problematic since he’s not a particularly willing tackler.
- Gets sloppy with his backpedal when playing off-man and seems to lack the instincts to close on the ball.
- Is undersized and underpowered when lining up in press coverage. Johnson simply lacks power in his punch.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
