Draft Profile: Bio
Jalen McMillan from San Joaquin Memorial High High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, McMillan opted to join Washington.

In 2020 as a freshman McMillan saw action in just 3 games for the Huskies as he made one reception for just 16 yards for an average of 16.0 yards per reception, with no TDs, and just QB rating when targeted of 40.4.

As a sophomore in 2021 he played 11 games and had a solid 39 catches for 470 yards for an average of 12.1 yards per catch, with 3 TDs, and a solid QB rating when targeted of 67.7.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Very good hands, accepts the ball fluidly on most throws and is ready to make a play afterward. Makes catches in traffic, even going up over taller defenders with vertical and toughness.
  • McMillan accelerates quickly and possesses good straight-line speed. He shows solid ball-tracking skills and body control downfield, able to adjust to the off-target throw.
  • Has elite speed and cutting ability and good hands and toughness. Lacks the ideal size, but has a similar body type to Antonio Brown.
  • He plays with a smoothness and balance, and McMillan shows a knack for setting up defensive backs.
  • McMillan has strong hands and is extremely competitive, and he has an innate sense of timing when it comes to elevating and high-pointing balls.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • His ability to track the ball is good enough, but McMillan too often let the ball get into his body downfield rather than snatching it with his hands.
  • He’ll be coming to the NFL from a wide-open spread offense in which he ran a limited route tree.
  • He’s elusive with the ball in his hands, but he won’t break a lot of tackles. Because getting separation is going to be an issue, he’s likely going to need to line up off the line of scrimmage.
  • NFL defenders may be able to knock him off his route because of his slight frame.
