Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Eagles a B-.

The Eagles bet big and early on Jalen Travis, 121 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Carter.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In No. 32 they get a ballhawk on the back end at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick64 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
The board had Alfred Collins higher than pick 64, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick96 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick134 Rnd4 Riley Leonard
A tidy little value on Riley Leonard in slot 134, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jah Joyner
They paid sticker price for Jah Joyner in the 161st overall pick, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick164 Rnd5 Jordan Hancock
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Hancock well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
A real head-scratcher, Oronde Gadsden II in the 165th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jalen Travis
A big swing on Jalen Travis at slot 168, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
