Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Bears. Every other box got a look, but running back did not. The Bears will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Tuimoloau pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In No. 10 they get a building block for the line at fair value.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
A straight-up fair deal on Tyleik Williams at the 39th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick41
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau at pick 41 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
