The Bears fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B.

The Bears looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Gavin Sawchuk at Round 7, Pick 35 regardless, 142 picks early. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. On value alone, Wheatley makes the weekend a net positive.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. It is not that Wheatley is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.
