Bell should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B-.

When a board-topper like Skyler Bell slides to No. 127, you do not overthink it, and the 49ers did not.

Reaching for Jagusah left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick27 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In the 27th pick they get a building block for the line, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick58 Rnd2 Zion Young
A reasonable price with a little left over, Zion Young in the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92 Rnd3 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah at the 92nd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 127 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

They took Logan Jones at par in slot 133, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick139 Rnd4 Demond Claiborne
They let Demond Claiborne come to them and pounced at pick 139. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick172 Rnd5 Vincent Anthony Jr.
They paid sticker price for Vincent Anthony Jr. in Round 5, Pick 33, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
