The rest of the league had time to spare on Jamari Lyons; the 49ers did not wait, grabbing him 49 spots ahead at the 206th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Jackson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

The Jackson pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and edge rusher still on the board. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
