Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureD+
Nobody dealt better than the 49ers this weekend: B.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The 49ers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They are betting Hall proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Everette.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Carnell Tate
Carnell Tate slipping to the 34th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
They jumped the gun on Caleb Lomu, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick56 Rnd2 Iapani Laloulu
They paid sticker price for Iapani Laloulu in Round 2, Pick 24, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
A big swing on Caleb Tiernan at pick 60, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick92 Rnd3 Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick94 Rnd3 Cashius Howell
Cashius Howell at slot 94 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick102 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in No. 102 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick120 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
They liked DeMonte Capehart enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 120. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128 Rnd4 Daylen Everette
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Daylen Everette graded well above the range. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick134 Rnd4 Rod Moore
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Rod Moore in the 134th pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick137 Rnd4 Earnest Greene III
A straight-up fair deal on Earnest Greene III at pick No. 137, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick167 Rnd5 Xavier Nwankpa
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Nwankpa at slot 167 squarely in line with his ranking. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick174 Rnd5 Ricardo Hallman
Ricardo Hallman in the 174th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick206 Rnd6 Dominic Zvada
A conviction pick on Dominic Zvada at pick 206 that the board grades a round light. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick241 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall in No. 241 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
