Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueA NeedB TradesD+ FutureB-
The Bills won the night they stopped Knight Jr. from sliding. Grade: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Demetrius Knight Jr., the No. 58 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 169th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In the 30th overall pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, and a steal at that.
Pick62 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 62nd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick109 Rnd4 Deone Walker
Circle this one: Deone Walker at pick 109 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick132 Rnd4 Elic Ayomanor
They robbed the room for Elic Ayomanor here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169 Rnd5 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick170 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune in No. 170 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jacob Parrish
Taking Jacob Parrish in Round 5, Pick 35 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick177 Rnd6 Aeneas Peebles
Somehow Aeneas Peebles was still sitting there in slot 177, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Trevor Etienne
They will replay Trevor Etienne at the 206th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
