Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B
ValueA-

FutureB-
The Bills cashed the board's mistake on Bryant: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Pat Bryant, the No. 143 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 206. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
In No. 30 they get a go-to option on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins in the 56th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick62
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku at Round 2, Pick 30 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. is a better player than the 109th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick132
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
Circle this one: Jordan Phillips at slot 132 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169
Rnd5
Smael Mondon Jr.
Somehow Smael Mondon Jr. was still sitting there in pick No. 169, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick170
Rnd5
Tory Horton
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 170 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick173
Rnd5
Kobe King
Kobe King at the Round 5 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick177
Rnd6
Mello Dotson
They will replay Mello Dotson at Round 6, Pick 1 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick206
Rnd6
Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in pick No. 206 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
